Emerald Lake
Emerald Lake and the mountain peaks surrounding the lake provide a spectacular backdrop to the Cilantro Cafe in Yoho National Park.
Lake Louise
Lake Louise is by far the most photographed lake in the Rocky Mountains. During the summer months you can rent canoes and enjoy the spectacular view from the water. During the winter months the lake freezes over entirely, which opens up the opportunity for a completely different kind of activities. You can rent ice skates from the Chateau Lake Louise and play a game of hockey on the ice, or strap a pair of snowshoes to our feet and walk across the lake.
Johnston Canyon
The hike to the Lower Falls of Johnston Canyon is a popular destination during the summer months. The paved trail has some elevation gain, but anyone in reasonable shape will be able to enjoy the views along the canyon, with a beautiful view of the Lower Falls as a reward at the end. This hike can get very busy during the summer months. During the winter months sturdy footwear is highly recommended, as the trail gets covered in snow and can become very slippery.
Banff Gondola
From the top of Sulphur Mountain visitors can see six different mountain ranges. It is often said that one can see more mountains here than most people see in their entire life. Temperatures can drop to a frisky -30 degrees celsius during the winter months, but on a clear day I personally find the views even more spectacular than during the summer months!
